A beautifully refurbished oak-frame stable paired with a private shepherd’s hut, set about 40 metres apart and linked by a woodland path through a secluded apple orchard in the High Weald of Kent. Sleeps up to 6 across two private buildings — ideal for families with up to three children who want a little space of their own, and equally relaxing for two couples sharing.
The stable has a queen-size bedroom, exposed oak beams and vaulted ceilings, a wood burner, a bespoke kitchen, and an open-plan living area with two pocket-sprung fold-out beds for extra guests or children.
The shepherd’s hut has its own bedroom that can be arranged as a double or as two singles, a kitchenette and a private bathroom — a quiet den for the children, or a self-contained double for a second couple.
Both buildings have electric heating; the stable also has a wood burner for cooler evenings.
Outside: a private hot tub (please shower before use; no pets in the hot tub), an enclosed garden, terrace seating, and two dedicated parking spaces next to the stable. Super-fast Wi-Fi throughout. Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome. Small events considered by prior agreement.
The villages of Sissinghurst and Cranbrook are reachable on foot via public footpaths; Staplehurst station is a short drive away. Hemsted Forest (around a mile away) has gentle trails suitable for children, and Bedgebury Pinetum offers dedicated mountain-bike courses through the woods — local e-bike hire can be arranged. Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Bedgebury and the wider High Weald AONB are all within easy reach.
